Custom thick film projects often require screens, fixtures, drawings, material review, prototype runs, and electrical validation. Before investing in tooling or repeat production, buyers should verify whether the supplier can control both the printed circuit process and the application-specific test requirements.

Start with a technical sample plan

A small validation lot can reveal whether the supplier can hold resistance value, conductor definition, silver-to-resistor overlap, substrate outline, pad adhesion, and insulation requirements. The sample plan should be based on the final drawing and target application, not only on appearance.

What to ask before tooling

  • Which substrate and paste system will be used?
  • What screen printing, firing, and inspection steps are planned?
  • How are resistance value, TCR, linearity, and insulation checked?
  • Can the supplier verify overlap between resistor paste and silver terminals?
  • What environmental tests are realistic for the application?
  • How are drawing revisions and lot traceability controlled?

Evidence that matters

Useful evidence includes clear sample photos, resistance measurement data, functional output curves, thermal or humidity test results, adhesion checks, and stable repeat samples. For sensor circuits, a curve or movement-based output report is often more useful than a single room-temperature resistance value.
