Engineering question

Which inputs are ready, which are unknown, and which decisions should the engineering review close?

Minimum useful packet

  • One identified drawing/artwork source
  • One sentence describing the required function
  • Electrical/thermal/mechanical targets that drive the construction
  • Application and assembly boundary
  • Prototype quantity and the decision the prototype must answer

Unknown is a valid status

Do not create false precision to complete a form. Mark an input unknown, explain what decision depends on it, and identify who can supply data or approve an assumption. A good RFQ reduces hidden uncertainty; it does not pretend uncertainty is gone.

What the review should return

  • Confirmed source files and revision
  • Proposed construction and explicit alternatives
  • Assumptions, exclusions and open technical risks
  • Prototype/validation and acceptance plan
  • Evidence deliverables and disclosure boundary
  • Commercial scope tied to the reviewed technical basis
