Engineering question
Which inputs are ready, which are unknown, and which decisions should the engineering review close?
Minimum useful packet
- One identified drawing/artwork source
- One sentence describing the required function
- Electrical/thermal/mechanical targets that drive the construction
- Application and assembly boundary
- Prototype quantity and the decision the prototype must answer
Unknown is a valid status
Do not create false precision to complete a form. Mark an input unknown, explain what decision depends on it, and identify who can supply data or approve an assumption. A good RFQ reduces hidden uncertainty; it does not pretend uncertainty is gone.
What the review should return
- Confirmed source files and revision
- Proposed construction and explicit alternatives
- Assumptions, exclusions and open technical risks
- Prototype/validation and acceptance plan
- Evidence deliverables and disclosure boundary
- Commercial scope tied to the reviewed technical basis
